An App-itising Journey
So I love puzzles. Not like 5000 piece Thomas Kincade landscape, like escape rooms and problems that need an actual solution. With my job, a lot of what I end up doing is solving problems with AV technology. Some one wants the projector to turn on and the screen to come down with one button: puzzle. Control of a sound board from a stream deck: puzzle. Etc, etc,
So i listen to a bunch of pod casts that are From programmers and the one thing they talk about is writing apps that they would use or like. I decided I needed a challenge and something else to put some brain power to when sitting on the couch and not doing much. This leads me to my stretch goal of wanting to write an app before the end of the year. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy or a huge money maker , just something I can put on the App Store an be a starting point for some ideas that I have. I wanted to document the prices so the blog is the place.
Step 1: what app will I make?
thinking of things that would be pretty straight forward I realized I had looked for a bourbon journal app a while ago and nothing really hit what I wanted. Thinking of the advice that the podcasters left, make one that I would like and chances are other people will to.
Step 2: write the app.….how
This is where my blog takes a pause as i decide to learn how to code in swift. I can do some basic logic stuff because of my job (hex, http api strings, basic commands) but nothing in actual code. So im starting by using the tools that Apple has created and im starting by going through swift play grounds to see how they want to actually have you put code together. Im also t done with “Learn to Code 1” and will update again when im done with part two of the lesson. Stay tuned
